when you read these rumors, make sure it is a reliable source. if Favre or his agent do not make any quotes in it, it is just the media trying to get the public all hyped up. here is a source to help you relax. Favre will fill his retirement papers later. he has no time limit. enough with the Favre questions. he is “The Legend.” leave it at that. let him retire in peace.

Favre fans, if (and when) Peyton Manning breaks Favre’s records?

May 27th, 2008
favre
JetsOverPats asked:

Most touchdown passes, most yards, most wins, most consecutive starts, and more……It’s very likely that Manning will be holding all of these records by the time he retires (and he might not hold the all-time interception record while holding the 2nd or 3rd all-time passer rating!). I read a lot that Favre is the greatest because of these records, so when Manning breaks them, will you Favre fans think that Peyton should be the greatest QB ever? Yeah, I know Favre played with a lot of heart but how are you supposed to compare that with other great quarterbacks because IMO Manning plays with as much heart and love for the game of football as Favre did.

Favre vs. Romo?

May 25th, 2008
favre
Darth Brady asked:

I’m not a Cowboy hater but I have a question. Why do some people think Romo is a better QB than Farve? I mean Favre has been making the same great plays for years and Romo, while he is exciting, is still young. Why is it so hard for some Cowboy fans to give Favre any credit?
Yes, my sometimes misguided twin brought up a good point. If I were building a franchise then I would go with Romo.

Is Eli Manning really a great quarterback or just another Robert Horry to come?

May 24th, 2008
eli manning
englandblueskies asked:

The Los Angeles Lakers brag how Robert Horry knocked down that lucky three pointer in Game 4 of the 2001-2002 NBA Western Conference Finals. In the same manner, the New York Giants cannot shut up about Eli Manning’s lucky pass to David Tyree in Super Bowl XLII.

What is so great about Eli? Just because Eli makes one lucky play, he gets credit for everything. What a fraud? Just like Robert is a lousy forward who cannot rebound or play defense, Eli is an overrated quarterback who cannot throw with accuracy. It was the defense and running backs that made the New York Giants. In the same way, it was Shaq who made the Los Angeles Lakers. Robert and Eli may have their lucky moments, but these two garbage players will never be Hall of Fame material.
Does anyone hate it when overrated bums get big bigger contracts and publicity for doing really nothing, but getting lucky? You can tell that I am not a very happy camper. Point guard Mike Bibby and quarterback Tom Brady worked their @ss off the whole regular season. Yet, Robert “Cheap Shot” Horry and “Baby” Eli Manning just happen to be in the right place, right time.

By the way, Mr. Horry is a dirty player. He shoved Steve Nash last season in the playoffs, which led to both Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw getting suspended. His behavior is no different from Eli’s mouth. Eli knows he sucks, but has the nerves to challenge Tiki Barber’s criticism.

Favre coming back…but what about Rodgers? Trade him?

May 20th, 2008
favre
Eric asked:

Okay, so everyone seems to think Favre will be back again next year. As a PACKER fan, I AM VERY happy!!! In fact, Brett can play 5 more years for all I care!! McCarthy said he wants him back, Marino told him not to retire until he cannot play anymore, most importantly HE LOVES THE GAME! The question is, what do we do with Aarron Rodgers? Leave him on the bench for two more years? Or is it time to part ways and try to trade him somewhere? I am sure a lot of teams would take him, bottom line is that he WILL NOT be starting in GB anytime soon….knock on wood (don’t need Favre getting hurt).

Is Bret Favre the selfish quarterback Jason Whitlock writes about? Should Bret Favre retire after 2006?

Favre Throwing Away Great Reputation
Vick Needs More Work to Truly Become a Leader
By JASON WHITLOCK
AOL

At this point in his career, Brett Favre is a coach and broadcaster killer.

Seriously, that’s what Favre does with his foolish play. He makes coaches and broadcasters look absolutely silly.

Favre’s reputation makes it impossible for coaches to actually coach him and for broadcasters to talk about his foolish play objectively.

There is virtually no difference between Favre and Michael Vick. In the NFC, the Packers could be playoff contenders if Favre would manage the game and avoid stupid turnovers. Instead, Favre just chucks the ball downfield into coverage and waits on his groupies to rationalize the mistake.

It’s not about winning with Favre right now. It’s about having a good time, having fun. His groupies in the press box love to talk about Brett’s passion for the game. How ‘bout passion for playing the game the right way? How ‘bout a passion for not being selfish?

Favre’s play is extremely selfish. Favre’s ticket to Canton has been punched. Whether Favre wants it or not, John Madden will introduce him by overstating Favre’s impact on the league.

Five quarterbacks I’d take ahead of Favre: John Elway; Joe Montana; Tom Brady; Dan Marino; and Steve Young.

In a couple years, you can add Peyton Manning to this list. And I’m sure old-timers would tell me Johnny Unitas belongs on the list.

Brett Favre is diminishing his reputation. His groupies need to inform him.

Green Bay Packer (Favre) fans?

May 15th, 2008
favre
I Got Wood asked:

On an honest note… how many Packer fans are still going to be rocking the green and gold when Brett Favre retires? Favre is loved nationwide in 99.9% of every household in America and is the main reason in most cases why the Pack has so many fans. How many people do you think are actually going to stick with Green Bay when Brett Favre does retire and Green Bay enters into its dark days much like Denver has in the endless search for the replacement for John Elway (Favre in this case). What do you think?

Brett Favre: Possible Comeback?

May 15th, 2008
favre
calisurfer941 asked:

Now granted I just got home about a few hours ago and heard this news broke early afternoon, so I’m sure there have been many questions already about. But being a full blooded Packers fan, I gotta chime in with my two cents.

First to fellow Packers fans, if there any shred of truth to these rumors, PLEASE let them be true! We all saw the press conference and how it seemed like the end of Favre for good, but I guarantee I’m not the only Packers fan, or even any NFL fan in general, would not love to see Favre back. The Super Bowl is not a goal for us with Rodgers taking over at first. With Favre back, it’s almost becomes an expectation with such a loaded team.

And to all the people who have been calling Favre a “crybaby” and “pre-madonna” shame on all of you. This man loves the game more than almost everything in his life, and plays with a passion and leadership very rare in this league anymore. You know who’s a real crybaby and immature? Guys like T.O., DeAngelo Hall, and every player that holds out or complains for petty things like money, trades, and has an ego larger than there already inflated heads.

Shame on you.
